Massage Therapy:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
|
Massage is one of the oldest, simplest forms of therapy and is a system of stroking, pressing and kneading different areas of the body to relieve pain, relax, stimulate, and tone the body. Massage does much more than create a pleasant sensation on the skin, it also works on soft tissues (the muscles, tendons and ligaments) to improve muscle tone. |
Although it largely affects those muscles just under the skin, its benefits may reach the deeper layers of muscle and possibly even the organs themselves. Massage also stimulates blood circulation and assists the lymphatic system in removing the elimination of waste through the body.
Benefits of Massage
Helps relieve stress and aids in relaxation
Helps relieve muscle tension and stiffness
Reduces muscle spasms
Provides greater joint flexibility and range of motion
Improves circulation of the blood and lymph fluids
Helps relieve tension related headaches and effects of eye-strain
Strengthens the immune system

Electrical Stimulation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
|
Electrical Stimulation therapy is a pain management technique that uses mild electrical currents to stimulate nerves and muscles. Some electrical therapy techniques may alleviate pain by blocking the transmission of pain signals along the nerves. Others may work by promoting the release of endorphins. Electrical stimulation therapy is used for 15 minutes at a time. |
Benefits of electrical stimulation:
Pain relief
Increased function, mobility and range of motion
Ease of use and administration
Possible decreased dependence on medications

Neurological and Vascular Testing
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|
|
If a person has pain, numbness, tingling, temperature changes, or discoloration in their arms or legs, it is important to determine the cause. Neurological testing helps us to identify the area a nerve is pinched so that we can recommend the appropriate treatment.Vascular testing shows us if the problem is coming from a vein or artery so that we can recommend treatment or refer the patient out to the proper specialist. |

X-ray
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

|
We use x-ray to determine the state of a person’s spine. X-rays show us if there are any broken bones, if osteoporosis is present, if a person has degeneration in the discs or facet joints, if subluxation is present and if so, how long it has been there, amongst other things. X-rays help us to determine a patients care plan because it shows the severity of subluxation and the degree to which the spine has distorted or changed as a result of subluxation. |

Soft tissue therapy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
|
|
Soft tissue therapy is designed to help people who have tension or have sustained an injury to specific muscle, tendons, ligaments or soft tissue areas. Injuries that respond well to soft tissue therapy include whiplash and repetitive use syndromes, like carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and pulled muscles. This therapy is generally focused on the problem area as opposed to working on the entire body. |
